The signing API for legal and long-lived documents

  • $99/month
  • 200 envelopes
  • Full API
  • No per-seat fees

Engagement agreements, estate plans, and loan and employment records get read again years after they're signed. MatterReady Sign returns every completed envelope as a sealed PDF with a trusted timestamp and the full audit trail inside it, so the evidence travels with the document, without enterprise pricing.

Coming soon. Join the early-access list and we'll be in touch as sandbox keys open up.

A signature is only as good as the evidence behind it

When a signed document is questioned years later, what matters is what can still be proven: who signed, when, and that nothing changed since. Evidence that lives in a vendor's database depends on that vendor still being around.

MatterReady Sign puts the evidence in the file. Each sealed PDF carries an RFC 3161 timestamp from an independent timestamp authority, a hash-chained record of every event, and a completion certificate, and anyone can check it on our public verification page.

  • Trusted timestamp proving when the document was signed
  • Tamper-evident audit trail embedded in the signed PDF
  • Adobe-trusted digital seal on every completed envelope
  • Public verification that re-runs the cryptographic checks

In development: long-term validation (PAdES-LTA), embedding the certificate status data a validator needs to check the signature after the signing certificates have expired.

Pay for envelopes, not seats

One envelope is one document sent for signature, however many people sign it. Your plan covers 200 a month whether one person or your whole team sends them, and API access is included rather than sold as a separate tier.

Everything a signed document needs to hold up later

Multiple signers, in order or all at once

Add every signer a document needs. Send to everyone at once, or set a signing order so each person is emailed when it is their turn.

Signature, initials, date, text, checkbox

Place fields on any page. Signers can draw, type, or upload a signature, and you can pre-fill values you already know.

Sealed PDF with a trusted timestamp

Completed documents are digitally sealed with an Adobe-trusted certificate plus an RFC 3161 timestamp from an independent timestamp authority, which proves when the document was signed.

Audit trail inside the document

Every view, signature, and decline is recorded in a hash-chained event log. The completion certificate is appended to the signed PDF, so the evidence travels with the document.

Public verification

Anyone holding a sealed document can check it on MatterReady's verification page, which re-runs the cryptographic checks rather than trusting a stored result.

Reminders, expiry, decline, void

Automatic reminders go to signers who haven't finished. Envelopes can expire, signers can decline with a reason, and you can void or nudge an envelope through the API.

An eSignature API you can price into your product

Create envelopes, track status, and download the sealed PDF and evidence from a REST API. Webhooks tell your app when an envelope is sent, completed, sealed, declined, voided, or expired. Sandbox keys run the full signing flow on watermarked documents and never use up envelopes.

How the MatterReady Sign API works

Built by a team that works with law firms

MatterReady started as legal intake software, so Sign was built around engagement agreements, authorizations, and documents that may be read again decades later. Firms that want signing without writing code get it inside the MatterReady platform.
