How MatterReady thinks about integrations

Most intake tools bolt on integrations as a feature. MatterReady treats integration as a core architectural principle. The system is designed to sit between your lead sources and your downstream systems — normalizing data, scoring readiness, and handing off clean records when matters are ready.

Every integration is optional. Connect what you use, skip what you don't. Your practice management system remains your system of record. MatterReady is the qualification layer in front of it.

Lead capture — getting information in

Leads arrive from multiple sources. MatterReady normalizes all of them into a single structured pipeline with source attribution, so your team works from one view regardless of where leads originate.

Hosted intake forms

Your firm gets a hosted URL like smithlaw.matterready.io. Practice-area specific forms collect structured, validated data. Add the link to your website, email signature, or contact page.

AI chatbot widget

Embed a conversational intake assistant on your website with one script tag. Visitors describe their situation in natural language; the chatbot collects structured data, routes by practice area, and creates pipeline leads. Responds in Spanish automatically when visitors write in Spanish.

Google Local Services Ads

LSA leads sync into MatterReady automatically. No manual entry, no copy-pasting from your Google dashboard. Leads arrive with source attribution and contact details intact.

Clio Grow

Leads from Grow flow into MatterReady for qualification. Bidirectional — status updates and enriched data sync back to Grow as leads progress through intake. Your marketing CRM stays current.

Custom domain option available — use something like intake.smithlaw.com. DNS update only; MatterReady handles the SSL certificate.

Practice management — getting qualified data out

When a matter reaches readiness, MatterReady pushes it to your practice management system with everything in place. The goal: attorneys open a complete file, not an incomplete lead.

Clio Manage

Qualified matters sync with contacts, custom field mappings, documents, and notes. Existing contacts are matched by email, phone, and name to prevent duplicates. Staff mappings ensure the right attorney is assigned. Bidirectional — MatterReady reads from Manage and pushes back.

Full Clio Details

What syncs to Clio

  • Client contacts — matched or created
  • Matter details — practice area, description, status
  • Custom fields — mapped from intake data
  • Documents — intake files, engagement letters, e-signed agreements
  • Notes — qualification summary, conflict signal report
  • Attorney assignment — via staff mapping

Document management — putting files where your team works

NetDocuments

For firms that store documents in NetDocuments, MatterReady syncs intake documents, signed engagement letters, and attorney-ready summaries directly. Documents land organized by matter. Connect via OAuth — MatterReady never sees your NetDocuments password.

Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint

MatterReady tracks documents stored in OneDrive or SharePoint using metadata only — file contents stay in your Microsoft tenant. Useful for firms that maintain SharePoint document libraries alongside Clio.

Built-in document generation

MatterReady generates engagement letters and legal documents from templates with multi-party e-signatures. Signed documents sync to Clio or NetDocuments automatically.

Scheduling — booking consultations without a separate tool

MatterReady includes a built-in consultation scheduler. No Calendly or Acuity subscription needed.

Calendar sync

Real-time availability checking against Google Calendar and Outlook. Booked consultations appear on your calendar automatically. Practice area routing ensures clients book with the right attorney.

Pipeline integration

When a consultation is booked, the lead's pipeline status updates automatically. No-shows are tracked. Rescheduling and cancellation are self-serve for clients.

Marketing attribution — measuring what produces qualified matters

Most marketing tools measure clicks and conversions. MatterReady measures which sources produce matters that actually reach readiness.

Google Analytics

Connect GA4 to see how website visitors become intake submissions. Understand which pages drive leads and where visitors drop off.

Google Ads

Track which ad campaigns and keywords produce qualified matters, not just clicks. Attribution flows from ad click through intake to matter qualification.

Search Console

See which search queries bring visitors to your intake pages. Connect organic search performance to actual pipeline outcomes.

AI assistants — operational access via MCP

MatterReady exposes an API through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), letting AI assistants like Claude access your firm's operational data securely.

What AI assistants can see

Operational signals only — pipeline status, priority scores, due dates, capacity metrics, and risk levels. Useful for morning triage, follow-up planning, or surfacing matters that need attention.

What they cannot see

Client PII is never exposed. No names, contact information, case narratives, or document contents are sent to external AI systems. Each MCP connection uses a separate, revocable API key with full audit logging.

MCP access is optional and disabled by default. Enable it from admin settings. See Security & Trust for details.

Data normalization — why this matters

When information arrives from different sources (web forms, chatbot, LSA, Clio Grow), it arrives in different formats. MatterReady normalizes everything into a consistent structure before scoring or syncing.

  • Names are parsed and standardized (first, last, middle, suffix)
  • Phone numbers are validated and formatted
  • Addresses are structured into discrete fields
  • Dates are validated and stored in consistent formats
  • Practice area classification is applied regardless of source
  • Source attribution is preserved through the entire pipeline

The result: when a matter syncs to Clio or appears in an attorney-ready summary, the data is consistent regardless of how it entered the system.

No vendor lock-in

MatterReady is designed to complement your existing systems, not trap you.

  • Your practice management system remains your system of record
  • Every integration uses standard OAuth or API keys — revocable at any time
  • Full data export available from admin settings at any time
  • Data synced to Clio or NetDocuments belongs to those systems — removing MatterReady doesn't remove your data
  • No proprietary data formats — exports use standard JSON and CSV
  • Cancel anytime with 30-day money-back guarantee

Self-serve setup

Every integration is self-serve from your admin settings. OAuth for Clio, Microsoft, and NetDocuments — you authorize through their own login pages. API keys for Google services. One script tag for the chatbot.

Most firms connect everything they need in under an hour. If you need help, reach out to hello@matterready.io.
